Erfa Alani
Board MemberErfa Alani is the Executive Director of Kitchener Housing Inc., where she leads one of Waterloo Region’s largest non-profit housing providers in advancing community well-being through stable, dignified, and affordable housing. She also serves as the fractional Executive Director of Small Business Centres Ontario, overseeing a network of 54 local enterprise centres that strengthen Ontario’s small business ecosystem through shared services, digital transformation, and coordinated government relations.
Previously, Erfa was part of the founding leadership team at Invest Ontario, the province’s investment attraction agency, where she served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the CEO. In earlier roles, she represented Canada in international trade negotiations with the European Union, the United States, and Mexico, and advised municipalities on industrial readiness and investment attraction strategies.
Her career bridges law, governance, and economic development, with a consistent focus on building trust-based organizations and enabling inclusive, sustainable growth. Erfa is a frequent public speaker, leadership coach, and TEDx presenter on ethical literacy, trust, and the role of play in leadership.
She holds an LL.M. from American University and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School.
